A festival structure under construction in Alappuzha. The poles straddle a main street, so the structure forms a kind of gateway through which the traffic flows.

The structure is lightweight, made of wooden poles and bamboo strips. The bamboo strips are prefabricated into panels, which the workers carry up the ladder.

I thought that it was an attractive structure, and I had no idea that it was just the beginning of a tower.
